Okay so you shouldn't have favourites but here I fail miserably I'm afraid!
A case in question is the wonderful three year old Jack Russell called Harry who I first had the privilege of getting to know two years ago.
His Mum and Dad are fabulous and have worked so hard to enable Harry to be the happy lovely lad he is today.
Harry has been on a TTouch workshop where he surpassed himself as he used to find it difficult to be around other dogs and to settle for any length of time.
Over the weekend he had some real peaceful moments and became best friends with a pretty young lurcher at the same time.
Today's lesson was how to greet people calmly when they first arrive.
Harry wore his lovely Pefect Fit harness with his training lead so he could be on all four feet when visitors came into the house as he had a tendency to jump up in his eagerness to say hello!
Next we used the clicker to reward him sitting and calmly touching the back of the visitor's hand with his nose.
We then marked and rewarded him every time he calmly checked in with Mum and then redirected behaviour with his favourite treat ball.
Harry took to this like a duck to water ~ yet another gold star for Team Harry. Can't wait to see you for the Advanced workshop in April.
Welcome to my new website! 2015 is Come to Heal's tenth anniversary.
I feel so very lucky to do something I am passionate about ~ Dogs are my life and over the last ten years I have met some lovely people and some amazing dogs. I never stop learning and dogs have been my greatest teachers along with the guidance and mentorship of truly great teachers and trainers.
Robyn Hood , Linda Tellington Jones sister is my inspiration along with Sarah Fisher of Tilley Farm.
They have been a great support and are my motivation in everything I do.
Recently I have done a workshop with Pam Mackinnon in Scentwork ~ her ability to read dogs and people is spellbinding and we have fun at the same time.
Watch this space for more information on Scentwork~ every dog can do it!!!!!
I have a wonderfully supportive husband John and along with my dogs over the last ten years they have been my rock and teachers too.
Today I have my Canine Soul Mate Barney Moon Special Agent ( please follow him on Facebook!) and my stunning little lad Star who I adore.
