Angel the dog in a field“I contacted Shona on the recommendation of our vet. Angel belongs to my son who is on the autistic spectrum. Angel and he have a very close bond and John has trained her really well. At the moment John and Angel are living apart and Angel is staying with us until they can be reunited. They do see each other on a regular basis and spend time together. However being apart from John has caused a lot of confusion and distress for Angel and this has affected her confidence. She has become quite timid and her behaviour around other dogs can be quite hard to manage. She is very excitable and sensitive at times.

Shona spent almost 2 hours with us on her first visit showing me how to do TTouch and observing Angel’s behaviour. On her second visit Shona observed that Angel was much calmer and she did some groundwork with us. Angel enjoyed it and did really well. When she is having her TTouch she rests her head in my hand and is so relaxed I can feel the whole weight of it. She visibly relaxes while I am massaging her.

I have had to build up the TTouch very slowly due to Angel’s sensitivity so improvements and changes have been quite slow. We are now seeing improvements in her confidence and behaviour around other dogs and she really enjoys the groundwork. She picked up what was expected of her really quickly and looks forward to her groundwork.

John has noticed her much calmer manner and so have his friends who comment on how different she is. With Shona’s experience and support Angel is making great progress.”
